  1. Quick and Fun Knit!

Posted by Mary-Alice Philman on 13th Apr 2015

I had leftover cotton/acrylic yarn after making a short-sleeve cardigan for my granddaughter, and wanted to make a matching hat for her. She will be traveling to Greece this summer with the P2P Program, and needed something with sleeves and to cover her head when she visits the Greek Orthodox churches. I selected this pattern as I needed something lightweight and airy. It was an extremely fast knit--only took two evenings while catching up on Netflix--and really turned out cute and fits her well. I did go down a needle size for the ribbing, as the cotton/acrylic yarn tends to stretch. I will definitely use this pattern again!

  2. Great hat design!

What a nice pattern to follow! I love the chart to follow the pattern. It makes everything easier. I used the yarn and needle size recommended and the hat isn't overly large which is good as I knit it for a smaller person.

  3. Quick and easy to follow!

It's been years since I did any knitting and I was pleased to find and use the stitch chart for the first time. It made it really easy to keep the pattern under control. I also used a different wool than recommended and it has turned out a little bigger but not much, although I did do a tension test before hand. I used Patons "Inca" 7mm needles, 2 X 50g balls.
