Product Description

When a heavy scarf just won't do, grab this gossamer-weight lace scarf instead! The silk/kid mohair blend lace-weight yarn knit on size 9 needles creates a supremely soft scarf.

An open lace panel with gentle peaks along one long edge is contrasted with a bit of garter stitch for lots of textural interest.

This scarf is very light, yet has enough body to allow itself to be draped in many pretty ways.

Wrap it around your neck like a cowl and tuck in the ends, drape it around your neck with the ends drawn through the folded middle loop, or tie it askew with a loose knot – it will always add a nice touch of femininity to your outfit.

PLUS, it's knit from just one ball of yarn. . . making it an ideal gift knit or quick knit for yourself!

ALSO available as part of The Gossamer Lace Collection eBook, which includes 4 Lace Shawl/Scarf patterns

  1. Beautiful Pattern

Beautiful pattern. I have just finished my forth scarf using this pattern, and I know I will use it again

  2. Never Fail

Posted by Kat on 13th Jun 2015

This pattern was well written with the end product being spectacular. SweaterBabe patterns never fail from the pattern direction to the finished product. This light, airy scarf is perfect for dressing up any outfit.

  3. Lovely soft one ball scarf

Posted by Joanne Swann on 13th Jun 2015

The pattern is set out well and does not require too many skills just knit, purl, yarn over and knit two together. I had no trouble following the chart or written instructions. However the pattern is not easy to remember so you have to concentrate. I found I had to count my stitches at the end of each row just to make sure I had the right number on the needle.I used Rowan Kidsilk Haze which worked well on one size smaller needles. It will be a gift for my Grandma, I hope she likes it too.

  4. just exquisite

Posted by Marion on 17th Feb 2014

I made this up in Debbie Bliss PartyAngel, mohair silk mix with a touch of glitter. After three false starts I switched to bamboo needles, which solved the problem of the yarn slipping off the needles all the time. The pattern is really easy to follow. I was going to give this to my sister, but I'm will have to make another one for her so I can keep it!

  5. Love this Scarf!!!

Posted by Pam on 23rd Sep 2013

I love making this scarf. The first one I made was a gift for a friend. She thought I had purchased it. I made a second one in lilac and plan on making more. So soft, pretty and the lace pattern is very feminine.

  6. use the yarn suggested

Posted by smithridge on 15th Feb 2013

pattern easy to read and to follow, altho necessary to really follow it.

as mohair is too itchy for my skin, decided to use a beautiful cashmere. but the pattern does not seem to hold up to the cashmere as well as the mohair.

  7. Very pretty. Somewhat tricky lace pattern.

Posted by A. Webster on 26th Nov 2012

This is a beautiful scarf and the pattern is awesome and easy to read. I made one for myself and will make another for a friend! However, if you have never knit lace before, this might be tricky. I find that shorter, repeating lace patterns are easier to keep track of. This one has a lot of stitches per row so it can be easy to lose your place if you are not paying close attention.

  8. So pretty

Posted by Diana on 8th Nov 2012

Although I haven't made this beautiful scarf yet, I can't wait to do so. I did quickly go over the pattern and I don't see where I would have any problems. I'm making this as a gift and I KNOW she is going to love it!!

  9. Lace Scarf

Posted by Unknown on 29th Oct 2012

This is the first lace weight project I have knit. It took a little patience to get it started and get used to working with the lace weight yarn. I would suggest using "lace" knitting needles. I started out with blunt tip wood needles and after a couple of frustrating rows I switched to a set of Addi lace needles and I am having a much easier time now. Of course a more experienced knitter would probably already know this. As far as the pattern goes, it is very well written, easy to follow with the chart. Another exquisite pattern from sweaterbabe!

  10. Very pretty lace scarf

Posted by Amanda on 28th Oct 2012

This was my first lace project and first time working with lace-weight yarn. It was a little tricky at first, but the instructions in the pattern are very clear and I got the hang of it and have a quickly knitted, beautiful project.
