Babies love colorful balls they can easily grab onto - so why not knit one using colorful yarns in a great Garter Stitch texture. A wonderful handmade gift for any infant or toddler.
Uses simple Garter Stitch and short rowing for shaping. Instructions are written with NO abbreviations and are very easy to follow. Includes explicit instructions on how to do short rowing, so no previous experience with this technique necessary!
Knit on size 10-1/2 knitting needles.
Finished Knit Measurements: Approx. 15-1/2" circumference.
Yarn Used: GGH Goa (50% Cotton/50% Microfiber; 1.75oz/50g [66yds/60m] per ball:
approximately .7oz/20g [26yds/24m] Blue #14 (Color A),
.35oz/10g [13.2yds/12m] Pink #35 (Color B),
.7oz/20g [26yds/24m] Orange #34 (Color C),
.35oz/10g [13.2yds/12m] Red #7 (Color D),
.35oz/10g [13.2yds/12m] Green #45 (Color E)
Pattern Gauge: Approximately 3 stitches = 1" and 27 rows = 5" in Garter Stitch on Size 10 1/2 [6.5mm] needles.
Yarn Label Gauge and Information:A bulky weight yarn with a gauge of 13 stitches and 19 rows = 4" [10cm] on size 8-10 [5-6mm] needles..
Total Yardage Required: Approximately 26yds [24m] of Colors A and C; 13.2yds [12m] of Colors B, D, and E required
