Product Description

Angled lace corners play against a backdrop of lattice diamonds to maximum effect in this gorgeous shawl. Knitters that love geometrical shapes and symmetry will truly enjoy how the lace elements fit together and produce an overall design that is both intriguing to knit and to wear.

The shawl is knit top down, beginning with a simple Garter tab. Then, the lace design begins, with yarnover increases along the center line and at each edge to form the triangular shape.

The lace begins by staggering open diamond shapes with diamond shapes that feature an angled eyelet design. As the shawl continues, the diagonal lines that mirror each other on the right and left half of the shawl begin to appear. As the shawl approaches the bottom, the lace within the diamond shapes gets more intricate for a pretty border effect.

The lace is both charted and written out. The lace for the right half mirrors the left half. They are almost exactly the same, with the exception of the k3tog right-leaning decrease (for the right half) vs. the s3k left-leaning decrease (for the left half) and the placement of the knit-in Garter stitch edges.

Knit as shown in a vibrantly colored, bulky-weight yarn on large needles, the shawl comes together relatively fast.
