Have yarn, but need a pattern to match?

Have you just bought some gorgeous yarn and now are wondering what to make with it!?

Here's some ideas based on the yarn weight. . . 

If the ball band suggests sizes 0-4 US [2-3.5 mm] needles, then the yarn is in the lace to fingering-weight range:

If the ball band suggests sizes 3-7 US [3.25-4.5 mm] needles, the yarn is a sport to dk-weight yarn:

If the ball band suggests 7-9 US [4.5-5.5 mm] needles, the yarn is a worsted to aran-weight yarn:

And if the suggested needle size on the ball band is 9-15 US [5.5-10 mm] needles, then the yarn is a bulky or super bulky yarn:
