Product Description

Here's the bulky-yarn version of the Maren Cabled Beanie, which was knit in a worsted-weight yarn (pattern sold separately). Both feature the wide, ribbed cable cuff and beautiful cable panels.

This hat is knit from the bottom up in the round, starting with a lovely, textured ribbed cable for the wide cuff. The hat then continues with five cable panels, including the addition of an open, more ornate cable. Decreases at the crown create a nice rounded shape at the top while tapering off the open cable design.

The Maren Bulky knits up quickly with about 170 yards of bulky-weight yarn on size 10 ½ needles, making it a great stash-busting one or two-ball gift knit! This design can easily be knit up in two colors, greatly upping your stash-busting options. Or knit it in your gift recipient's favorite team colors!

Cables are charted and written out.

  1. Pattern for cabled beanie

Posted by Anne on 17th Dec 2022

I really like the look of the #338 maren bulky cabled beanie. I knit continental style, and years ago I learned from my mother a nice way to knit ribbed cable, by using the back of the yarn loop instead of the front. It looks nicer, and also stay tighter, which is good for the bottom of the beanie.
