Here's a whimsical little jacket to add some zing to your wardrobe! This cardigan is a fairly quick knit, as it's knit from the top down in luscious Malabrigo Worsted yarn on size 11 needles.

Sleeves and body are worked in a unique, all-over cable and lace pattern that gives the cardigan lots of lovely texture and visual interest. Garter stitch neckline, front bands, and ribbed sleeve edgings provide nice contrast and finished edges.

And then, accent pockets are knit in, with a very special yarn from Namaste Farms called "Charmed - Hello Kitty" in a special color that Natalie, of Namaste Farms, calls "Babe" just for me! Notice the fabulous Hello Kitty charms and fancy ribbon!

The bottom of the cardigan is also edged in Babe, to liven things up. A zipper is then sewn in.

Matching cable and lace cowl can be worn with or without the cardigan.

Skill Level: IMPORTANT: This pattern recommended only for those who feel comfortable keeping to the Cable Lace patt even while the st count is constantly varying.

Yarn Used: Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted (100% Merino Wool); 3.5 oz/100 g (210 yds/192 m] per hank): 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5) hanks in Molly #39 (MAIN yarn) for Cardigan and Cowl;
and Namaste Farms Charmed-Hello Kitty (Alpaca Blend); 40g (Approx 40 yds/37 m per hank): 1 hank in Babe (ACCENT yarn) for Cardigan and Cowl.

Gauge(s):
Pattern Gauge: 17 sts = 4" [10cm] and 20 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Cable Lace st patt with MAIN yarn on largest-size needle.
Yarn Label Gauge and Information: MAIN yarn is aworsted weight yarn with a gauge of 4 - 5 stitches = 1" on US size 7 to 9 needles.

Total Yardage Required: 610 (630, 715, 780, 845, 930, 1025) yds [558 (576, 654, 713, 773, 850, 937) m] of MAIN yarn. (About 160 yds [146 m] of this is for the Cowl.) Approx 40 yds [37 m] of ACCENT yarn for the Cardigan and Cowl.
